Description
Following a career working with children with physical, behavioural and learning difficulties, Lauren first came to Osteopathy through a dance-related injury. Inspired by the treatment she had received, Lauren went on to study for a Masters degree in Osteopathy at Oxford Brookes University and qualified in 2012. During her time here, she completed a research project on breathing disorders and lower back pain and treated many patients with various complex conditions and medical histories.
On graduation, Lauren became registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy. Having previously worked in clinics in Kent and West Sussex, Lauren now splits her time between two clinics in Surrey and seeing people in their homes. Like all osteopaths, Lauren completes continued professional development yearly and has attended conferences on a number of topics including First Aid and Clinical Emergencies, Hypermobility and Performing Arts, Advances in Spinal Surgery and Clinical Pilates. Although she treats every type of patient, Lauren specialises in treating people from a sporting or performing arts background as well as pregnant women. Using the above qualification, Lauren also teaches Clinical Pilates and uses this as an adjunct to Osteopathy to aid recovery and help patients achieve long term health and lifestyle changes.
When not treating, Lauren enjoys doing all forms of exercise including weight training, Yoga and Pilates. She also enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family
